Ricardo
Shropshire born Nick Snaith aka Ricardo is BRMB’s own blue-eyed King of Smooth, presenting the early afternoon session from 1–4pm Monday to Friday.
Ricardo has been at 96.4 BRMB for nearly five years now and presents the afternoon show, weekdays, from 1 'til 4pm. His real name is Nick Snaith, Ricardo is just a nickname, and if he had a pound for everyone who asked him how it came about, he'd have retired as a millionaire by now.
So what's the story? "When I joined BRMB I interviewed the supermodel Caprice who was launching a pop career at the time. The station boss had dreamt up a new name for me at a drunken lunch meeting and persuaded Caprice to come on stage at my first Party In The Park and rename me. It was supposed to last just a couple of months but it's still here four years on! I don't mind it though".
Ricardo has never really worked at any other radio station besides BRMB. Before he came here, he had only presented a handful of shows on a really small station and worked in local TV. "I love Radio, especially the intimacy of it and the fact that you can really be in touch with your listeners. With phone, text and email you can get an instant reaction from everyone who's listening, whether it is good or bad!"
He has lived in the City centre for over four years now. "Birmingham has changed so much in the last five years and it offers everything that London has to offer and more, plus it doesn't take hours to get everywhere. I love living here and it's my adopted home even though I'm originally from Shropshire, which isn't that far away!"
Ricardo is single and spends his weekends in Birmingham's bars and clubs, if he's not playing in them himself. His hobbies are flying and playing the piano, which sounds a bit ponsy but its not! "I've got some great friends and I love my independence, but I would like to get married one day and have kids."

Send Ricardo an email and tell him what you're up to. He always replies!
